Gran Turismo 3 delayed AGAIN, DOH!
#1
SCEE has confirmed this morning that the release of Gran Turismo 3 has officially slipped a month in Europe to July 1 from June 1. With PlayStation 2 still gagging for its triple As, the news will come as a bitter blow to owners still hanging on for those ethereal killer titles.

Dave - I fu**in hate those games!
Just CANNOT see why people enjoy playing them - I'd rather keep playing the MGS2 demo - I've finished it about 4 times now and I keep finding new stuff!

Picked up a Dreamcast plus 4 games for £60 from GAME yesterday.
OK, I handed over my spare unused original PS with three crap games.
Top build quality and my mate has 100's of DC games i can borrow/steal.

NeilR,
Wise choice mate, I love my Dreamcast.
Games to play:
1. ShenMue
2. Test Drive Le Mans
3. Metropolis Street Racer
4. Tony Hawkes II
5. 18 Wheeler (good but short)
6. Jet Set Radio
That'll do for starters

Flak,
At this moment in time, the Dreamcast is the better machine, purely on the strength and quality of the games it has.
The PS2 has a handful of *decent* games.
Potentially, when MGS2 comes out in 2002 (PAL), and GT3 A Spec comes out in July (PAL)
it'll then has some decent games. Right now there's nothing to shout about.

DC maybe cool, but its no way as cool as the PS2. The DC production has been terminated so I guess sega agress with me!
I've heard that they are teaming up with PACE to make a digital set-top that has a DC built in! Not sure when and why?
Anyway ZOE and Starwars Starfighter are 2 top titles. GT3 is going to be definetly worth the wait...well it had better be...its been long enough init.
Metal Gear comes out soon so looks like the PS2 is picking up speed and aint taking NO prisoners!

DazV....Flak
I already have a PS2 and it will surely kick the DC's **** once the coders come to terms with the architecture.
The DC is a quality machine and like DazV sais, has some amazing titles which will also become available to the PS2 in hopefully improved form. But right now, i want to play quality titles like Tony Hawks II, Resident Evil Code Veronica and with the DC, i can.
The PS2 will act as a DVD player until the next wave of titles appear and the DC will be my main Games machine.
NeilR
p.s. they'll all have to wait till i've completed FF9 though.

NeilR,
Agree with you, but by the time the PS2 gets some decent games, I'll have me GameCube and the whole thing will start again!
Now Nintendo definitely know how to write games. The GameCube may even be underpowered but if they do Zelda on it, I'm in.

Which goes to show it doesn't matter what the machine does, if it hasn't got any decent games.
Agreed, Nintendo have some really great series, BUT they've always been bad at getting third party developers onboard.
Developers are really getting the best out of the DC and PS1 and there are more people developing for them so there are more 'fun' games about.
PS2 will probably have a whole set of decent games by Christmas (and a more user friendly price tag).
