Hello All

I have had a few battery RC Cars now and know a bit about them but i was thinking about upgrading to a petrol RC car.

However i dont know anything about these?

Can anyone give me some help e.g. How much, what make is best, Who to talk to, where to go, recommendations etc?

Oh yes im working on a farm so an off roader would probably be best.

I also have radio gear already

TIA

Rich

rich,

I cant really comment on off road as i dont have one, I would probably look for a 1/8 scale .21 engined buggy- I have an on road version of this http://www.protech.be/html/c6.html (expect to pay £300 - £350 plus radio gear-if you can afford it get the RS).

A couple of lads I know race these http://www.racing-cars.com/xtdesertstormR3e.asp, these this are bonkers on tarmac - mega wheelies through every gear. I would imagine they would be a blast off road. also the engines are drill start which makes things easier.

have a look round the forums - if you don't mind the American bullsh1t try here:

HPI forum, more down to earth :

modelsport is definately worth a look, one of the better shop sites.

richmilly,
just from personal experience, i would thotoughly recommed getting a cheap kyosho alpha series to start with.
you can get a scooby or focus or peugeot, i think.

that will give you some experience to play about with and learn setups etc.
plus your more than likely to damage something, and these car spares are easy to get and relatively cheap.

i think you can get the whole kit for about £200 all built with radio gear and servos fitted

if you want off road buggies, me and my brother-in-law both bought a gs storm each last year.
they retail at about £460 i think, but we got them from a show at sandown park for £360 or nearabouts.
we have caned the ***** off these things and they still come back for more!!!

good luck
