What are commonly recognised proof of ID / age?

I don't have a photo card driving license and a passport is not something you carry everywhere with you, I'm wondering if there are any alternatives? I have various bank & credit cards etc, but nothing with a pic.

get *your* bank to sign and stamp your photo as a true likeness

I did this with a copy of my passport photo page at my bank for an application.

Portman group proof of age card, 10 year passport, new photo driving license, birth certificate thats about it i think

Cheers dogmaul, off to investigate this Porman thing now. I've never been asked for ID in my life but after Saturday night some arsey bouncer could ask and I'd have nothing on me.

rik, my bank does coz I go in there to do banking. hence the your bank, coz your accounts are there.

i used to get ID'd all the time so i used to use passport and driving license but stopped using passport when the photo fell out

but best way to not get id'd is to get to know the bouncers or the staff at the bars also that way you get lockins too

Fosters - I very much doubt that banks can recognise every customer. And even if they could, they have no jurisdiction in these matters anyway??

Nope it was me.

However I have never been ID's before in my life until then I was like Chris, I have a paper driving licence, so dont carry that on me, never carry my passport on me, however I had several credit cards etc all in my name on me.

I'll get my revenge in a few months time

Portman group Proof of Age is here with a PDF form to download.

It's a fiver to apply. Whilst it might save potential hassle in the future, I kinda object of having to get ID at the age of 26 and a 1/2!

Edit to say... £5 is still cheaper than the £18 to change to a photo license though.

my mate got id'd when he was almost 28 hehe we did laught especially the underage ones who were there and didnt get id'd

dogmaul - How do you know that they know 'almost everyone'?? Have you gone in with a list and asked them?

nah its just they drop a lot of the usual questions and call everyon by their name b4 you give them you card or books thats all and i can just take things in and they get done with no fuss

Some bouncers only accept passports or driving lisence so get the photo one sorted when you can

You can now take your passport into the PO to get it verified without having to send it off with the form to get a photo ID licence.
