I went to the Bahamas three years ago. Lots to do @ the resort we were at including free water sports and trapezing (SP). Much better than any med type holiday.

Been to Antigua 2 or 3 times - love it but the yanks are slowly taking over the world There's a few odds and sods to get and see and a visit to Montserrat is also well worth it whilst you're there. Certainly was never bored for the 2 weeks we were there.
I hate resorts especially all inclusive ones so if that's what you're after then I can't help We went out every night to local restaurants etc and had a great time.

Spent 6 months in Jamaica with a certain Reggae band
Stayed in the countryside by Ocho Rios, but also spent alot of time in Kingston and Montego Bay. Loved it.
However, it can be rough in places (bear in mind that it is still a 3rd world country ) However, the scenery is beautiful, as are the beaches. My apartment opened up onto the beach
Even flew my wife out to visit - she loved it too.
For all inclusive, you're looking at Sandals (my mate's fiance's dad owns it!!!)

Went to Barbados last year and did absolutley rock all. Flew with Virgin Atlantic, couldn't fault the service. Stayed at Turtle Beach, and the hotel was okay.
Stayed on the beach, relaxing, drinking the all inclusive alcohol.
Quite cheap, but watch out you will get harrassed by people selling aloe vera.
I'd go again though.

Been to Jamaica and Antigua, fantastic places Jamaica was dodgy as hell but still good fun, made it interesting going out to clubs at night time
Antigua is very quiet in comparison and found the locals much more friendly.
Highly recommend them both.

Went to Grenada with the missus, first week of the World Cup. 1 Week AI. Very nice, very hot, people nice, resort nice. Flight ws ok. RexGrenadian was where we stayed. Went to Dominican Republic 11 years ago, now that really was superb, apart from the 3hour transfer to the other side of the island with a lunatic driving 50 people in a coach at midnight avoiding potholes and...well..bigger holes, right at the last minute, but hey. !!

We did Barbados last august.. our first holiday together..
was a great place. VERY friendly..
Was humid as **** tho! thanks god for AC
We stayed in Maxwell at a reasonable hotel (all inclusive)
Cracking weather/beaches
Plenty to do if we wanted, but quiet enough for those who want it..
Bridgetown was v lively..
Restaurants in St.Lawrence were good, and fairly cheap too..
oh, and like someone else has said; watch out for the aloe vera guys..
Lets just say aloe Vera aint all they try to sell you
**dont be tempted coz their police are pretty sharp and the hotels have guys to watch guests -- everyone knows everyone out there.. its not that big a place..
West coast s quiet, and quite upmarket.
North Coast is very rural (caneFields etc)no discernible tourism
East Coast is surfers paradise--Heavy seas and minimal tourism..
South is more lively, but has slightly rougher sea than the west.
I loved it and hope to go back sometime soon...
also Tobago has generally had thumbs up from everyone I asked ..

I have been to the dominican and cuba on one of those all inclusive deals and there class.
Dominican 2 years ago was £930 each for a five star hotel all inc, and Cuba last year £1100 each all in.
It sounds alot but when your there you don't spend much !!!!
We spent about £500 in two weeks that included are trips and a Night In manchester

One thing you have to remember is that Red Stripe is the local beer, and that alone is worth the cost of the all inclusive package I certainly got my moneys worth while in Jamaica
And on top of that the quality of the food is normally superb, very good sea food such as lobster and the finest fillet steak etc all part of the all inclusive packages. If you were to work out the cost of B&B or half board and then add up the cost of beer and top food you will find the all inclusive packages are an absolute bargain.
Nixs where did you stay in Montego Bay? I stayed at the Half Moon in Montego Bay, fantastic place unless you go for a walk into the centre of Montego Bay which I wouldnt advise anybody to do unless you have very good friends there.

Stayed in a place called Club Carribean. All inclusive resort (as most of them are) I know what you mean about walking around outside the resort. You do have to be careful it is a bit dodgy

Barbados was great in November - extremely friendly people.
You can fly direct, which is a major plus point (you can only fly direct to Jamaica and Antigua - the others all need connections).

Ive been to Barbados and st lucia (sandals)they have always had a good name but i think they have got a little to commercialised for me.
Dont get me wrong sandals was very nice but it revolved around the americans.
The place you need to go is one of the maldive islands as nothing will touch it.Its simply paradise.THE DOGS SACK

I always used to rate Barbados (west or south coast depending on budget)- but having been to the Maldives its no contest and TBH I reckon better value for what you get. BUT there really is not much to do apart from watersports (oh and all that food and drink and sun and ......) - too relaxed to even bother with the gym!!!
