Just a quickie (story of my life )
This morning I see that there are 5050 registered members/users of Scoobynet...basically since the weekend we have had an additional 50 enthusiasts join our growing community.
I wonder how many of us are actually posting/reading threads...and how many registered members haven't been on the system for days/months or even years???
My thought for the day.

I read far more than I post. As I can only get access from work, I frequently intend to reply, but don't have time.
In my experience, the vast majority of members to a bbs are lurkers. Many people though, lurk for a bit and then after losing their bbs virginity, post like there's no tomorrow...

I'm here all the time (what...sleep...? ) but consider myself not knowledgable (sp?) enough to answer most of the questions....
And I'm not yet ready for the Muppet Collective.....

I look in occasionally during the day, and post as the need takes me. I have noticed on other BBs that they tell you things like how many others are logged in at the moment, how many times each thread has been read etc.
I don't know if these are available on UBB, but perhaps they would be of interest to some members.

I would guess it is about 1500 users who post regularly and loads more that lurk. I probably post maybe twice a week but look every day. Deleting registrations is a silly idea as some people only post when the have a question to ask this could be once a year. My brother probably posts once every 4 months but looks most days.
Anyway who cares if there are 5000 registrations and only a few are used? It's only a small bit of disk space.
I think the "How Many Times Has This Been Read" thing would be a good idea. The Lancer BB has it and I think they use UBB

This was intended to be a fairly serious thread ...so if possible, can we hold off the muppitise button for the time being...
...I agree with points above in general. IMHO I think it would be quite interesting to see the following;
1. Total number of registered members
2. Number of posts made by each (when they post )
3. When the member last posted
4. How often a thread has been viewed
Cheers

Rum* - I guess I'm a "lurker" having only posted around 16 messages since last September.
However,I usually check the postings out at lunchtimes at work, and for an hour or two each evening. I've had my scooby about 16 months now and did nothing to it until I found scoobynet...now its costing me a fortune (having just added P1 wheels, and AP 6 pot kit from Scoobysport amongst other mods). But its worth every penny!

I'm an active and avid reader and poster on scoobynet.
I access at *least* once a day, if not more frequently, unless my work gets in the way
If I can answer a question, or add my opinion then I will.
I'm also known for posting rude questions, such has 'how can you afford to buy your scoob" etc...

Well, I've been here since the beginning. Hardly post as I think I never have anything interesting to say Look when I can.
