That release date is Japan.
Expect the UK version to follow at least a couple of months later.
You could always buy an import PSX2, which you COULD buy chipped, so that you could play GT3 on it and er, download any other PSX2 game off the net like some deviants I know. And hey it runs 17.5% faster too!

LOL
"17.5% faster"....sounds like the WRX vs Uk spec debate again.
Funny, the Japanese like to give the toys we buy some more oooomph in their neck of the wood.
Can't wait for GT3, will be getting MOTO GP today to keep my petrol head tendancies in tact until the big day, likely to be christmass.

I thought GT 3 had been put back till April in Japan, as they were not quite finished??????
But hey the sooner the better, looking forward to rain drenched tarmac circuits.
Anyone played MOTO GP on PS2?? Got my first taste at the weekend, and was impressed

thanks AWD....Just found out from a sony REP that the ***** are waiting until the PS2 Sales in the UK Hit 1 Million therefore assuring Sony And Polyphony a guaranteed 9 Hundred thousand sales!!...the other 1 hundred thousand is the people that don't care much for racing car sims!!...the steering wheel will not be available to buy seperatly either!!...it will have to be brought as part of the package(Game and wheel) or just the game..
PS..I am lead to believe that the game plays awsome with the Dualshock2 pad....but 5 times better with the wheel
PS 17.5%..is that not the VAT??

UK release - June 1st confirmed.
20% quicker...
US PS2 uses NTSC, runs at 60Hz
UK PS2 uses PAL, runs at 50Hz
Sony writes the NTSC version version first, then slows it down and shrinks the screen from full screen to 'letterbox size' for us suckers in the UK to put up with.
You end up with black lines at top and bottom of game, and less smooth framerate.
(muppet costume on, coat on, engine running)
