Mums love silver photo frames. If you could get one of their wedding photos, and a recent one of them together, have both framed, and engrave the frame , it would be a great gift.
If you have access to a wedding photo, you can have a copy made any size for about £5

I'd go for somewhere other than London for that idea.
Try somewhere like the Cameron House maybe?

Or I can highly recommend the Isle of Glencoe

You won't get a view like this in London:

Silver clock to go on mantelpiece engraved with names and wedding date 25 years etc and who from. Or combine this with weekend away as suggested with clock and best bottle of claret (ideally 25 year old) handed to them over evening dinner David (whose been married over 25 years!)

Si, for engraved clock I would go to decent high street jeweller - you know one of the old family firms - then you know what you are getting and he can arrange engraving. Shows folks you thought about it carefully too David

What about old wedding photos etc? You could get them to come up for 10 seconds then go onto the next one like a slide show. If you don't do something then old films can get lost, damaged or just deteriorate due to old age. Some of the film of me when I was a baby (1977) is already well on it's way to decomposition.
