The missus lets me go off on an annual lads holiday, last year it was magaluf in july, i chose that. This year my mate has opted to go to playa del ingles gran canaria in the first week in april, will it be dead?i can`t help thinking its gonna be a bit on the cold side and lifeless at that time of year. Anyone been there about that time?

I was there in March a few years ago.The weather was good. (Sunburn strenth all year round in the canaries) The nitelife might be OK. I can't really remember much after I discovered Tropical for 40p a pint.

Moz - IMHO the phrases 'lads holiday' and 'Gran Canaria' don't really match up.
Try Tenerife - Playa de las Americas, or for a bit more 'culture', Los Chistianos.....(!)
Should be about 26/28 degrees there in April..

Shaun,
Sausage jockeys, sounds like fun, whats it like?
I think the bloke who chose the destination might be gay, his dad is and his wife looks like a bloke.
My missus lets me go away once a year because I used to go on skydiving trips to the states before I met her,the expense of it caused a good few rows so when I compromised by downgrading to a weeks pissup in europe somewhere she thought she`d won.

Puerta Rico in Gran Canaria is pretty good for a holiday. Playa De las Americas is a serious no no at this time of the year as the weather can be quiet pap!
Playa has an air of "ministry of sound" and Trafalgar square to it, however they do offer a very humourous buggy hire thing with a two srroke engine that you can roll over all day long. The minute you hit the main stretch in Playa and see Kentuck Fried Chicken ajoined to Pizza Hut you will soon realise that actually Its England with some sun and a little bit of attitude from the local street sellers that still claim that their Oakleys and watches are really really genuine!!!!
Go for Puerta Rico as its got a fair bit more class than Playa.
Tenerife actually is a beautifull island....that said there are areas to avoid!
Kind Regards
Ronnie
