As reported in the Sentinel (our local rag last night).
22 year old male:
Driving whilst disqualified - Pleeded guilty
2 x Driving without insurance - Pleeded Guilty
5 x Driving without a license - Convicted
5 x Driving without insurance
6 x Driving without an MOT certificate
3 x Failing to produce a license
5 x Failing to produce insurance certificate
4 x Failing to produce MOT certificate
Convicted all of the last group.
Fined £150
Disqualified for 12 months
£50 costs
I'm speechless. I've paid over £2000 on insurance alone in the last two years. Crime does pay doesn't it?

See this day in day out in our local paper.
I was caught for doing 98 in a 60 - straight road, perfect conditions, very little traffic (petrol crisis) and was fined £555 and 6 points.

Even if the tosser was to win the lottery he would still be himself- IMHO punisment enough.
Probably drink/drug himself to death and do the gene pool a favour anyway -if he won!

You have paid £2000 for insurance in two years? I paid over that alone in ONE year!!!!!
£2500 for my first year, £2000 for my second year, then back up to £2900 for the third!!!!
I could buy another MY94 WRX for that.
I know what you mean though, it is annoying paying that much and people getting away with no insurance.
Edited to make my post make more sense!!! LOL

The only punishment this person is going to take notice of is a hefty fine or prison.
And as for the £150 fine, how much has the government lost from this guy driving without tax on these cars?
Just as well he hasn't been caught speeding, otherwise he'd really be in trouble!!
