I found this buried in usent by Andrew Guzman, seemed to have worked for me in very limited testing. Would love to hear if it works for others.

was having the same problem, and searching around different forums I found the suggestion of changing your DNR setting in the DVD menu. If it's on turn it off, or turn it on if it's off. It sounds like a load of crap, but I changed the setting, put in The Patriot, which would screw up as quick as 20 minutes into the movie, and it actually
worked. I was able to watch the whole problem with no sync problems. Maybe it was just a strike of luck, but try it out yourself. Post your results. I'd be interested to see if this is actually works on all systems.

Are you sure it is DNR? Is it not a setting for Digital optical output that you need to change?

I'm sure it's DNR. I've also heard disabling digital out helps, but then I don't get dolby digital!

Weird results last night, disabled DNR, seemed to help, then got lip sync, so switched on MPEG and DTS which seemed to solve it!

There is something in those settings which helps!

Question

tried the DNS thing with no luck, although I did check it with the worst DVD I have, so I should try others.

Where are the MPEG and DTS setings?

MPEG/DTS are under audio in the DVD settings. If you don't have optical connections also try turning digital optical to off.
