I've just been offered the below Marantz 4100 DVD Player for £131 from ebay even though it didn't meet reserve. I was really after a Marantz CD Player but ended up bidding on this as I don't have a DVD player - 2 birds with one stone ?. Do you think this'll give decent CD sound compared to a dedicated CD player when coupled to an amp ?

Reviews for the newer model the 4100 OSE get 5 star for sound quality.

depends on what you compare it against.If you value stereo playback and you would feel shortchanged with anything less than a £200 *separates* cd player,then i would say probably not.

if you aren't realy that bothered and music only goes on when you are reading the papers on a Sunday morning then you may get away with it.

there is a Marantz Cd63 KI sig CD player just gone on Ebay. (288 items on today!)I would offer the guy £100 for the DVD player and try and get the CD63 for the same.

he will take it,probably!
