Question

Hello,

I was looking at a Y2k article today saying that there have been a few Y2K issues cause by the fact that it was a leap year. Some systems diddnt know this so started january a day early.

Iterestingly enough I am sure that my Nokia 7110 was set to the right date last year and now it is 1 day advanced....

Has anyone else got a 7110, can you check?

Dave.

Dave,

mines OK n'all!

Sounds like "BBC Watchdog style" scaremongering, where very early versions of the software were a bit more buggy (just like early DOS, VMS, MAXIMOP etc.) so they imply that everyone is at risk.

If you type *#0000# (thats ZEROs not OHs)on your phone keypad it should display the version number - mines "V 04.84 07-04-00 NSE-5" on the Orange network. What's yours?

Oh well I must have set the date wrong when I got it!

The BBC stuff was not about Nokia just a few Y2K issues from around the world.

Ill get my coat.

Got that P!ssed off with my Nokia 7110 I slung it and got a 6150, I am now waiting for the 6210. I had 13 replacement 7110 in 9 months due to various faults non of them physical damage.

I have had my 7110 for a year now, and no problems so far (v4.84). OK, the memory search is slower than my old 6110, and i am worried that the spring-slider will give up one day, otherwise fine.

As i am on Orange, i upgrade every year or two anyway because it is almost cheaper than buying a new battery. Not sure about the 6210 though, i hear that it doesn't fit in the 6110/7110 car kit - maybe it will be one of those video phones next instead
