I'm about to go out and buy the Sony DSC-S70 tomorrow at John Lewis. They will price match and also offer a 2 year warranty.
The best price I've found for this camera is £599.98 from Curry's.

Does anyone know where I might see a better price?

If John Lewis won't price-match, try Jessops (currently selling it at GBP599) - my FujiFilm FinePix40i was only GBP435 (against a typical GBP550 at the time) because another local shop was offering it at the lower price!

They did price match, and I bought it for £549. I then invested my savings in a 64Mb memory stick.

Next is the KV32FQ75, but John Lewis have 700 of them on back order and are only receiving 35 per month for all of their branches. My local Sony shop can get me one tomorrow (at a higher price and with only 1 year's warranty). What are Sony playing at?

And why is it that if I spend £30 on a camera I get a carry case thrown in, but if I buy one that the Sony shop at Bluewater sell for £779 I don't?

My sister works at Waitrose, so i wonder whether she can get another 20% off the price-match price as employee discount????
