Law regarding number plates on your old cars....

Just working on something at the moment and need some advice regarding the law.
Does anyone know the legalities of exposing number plate, make, model, colour, mods etc of a car you have owned in the past but have since sold on.
i.e. my old 205 GTi was a red 1.6, Reg G499 LWB (now written off). But could I be done under the DPA by the new owner if the car was still alive for submitting its details over the net?
Any lawyers out there?

i didnt realise there was a legal problem about giving out other people's registration plates I wouldn't do it for people off here as a matter of courtesy, but i mean if i was naming and shaming some tosser i didn't realise its illegal.
