Question

I own a domain, and want to start using it properly.

I'm after a company to host my web site, using my domain name and forward my email.

Do anyone know a company who can do this? Also I'd rather pay and not have banner ads on my site.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Andy

Andy

Depending on how far you want to go with your site, and hosting, I wouldn't bother looking especially for hosting with FrontPage extensions - when I started designing sites 2 years ago I used FrontPage.

We went for hosting with extensions, but after a while I replaced the interactive bits that used these extensions with hand-coded stuff so we never actually had the benefit of them - I now use Dreamweaver (hence the name), and we dont need them at all.

We ended up with

Cool

Hi there,
I was in the same position as you around about a week and a half ago. I spent ages looking for webhosting for my domain of which wasn't a reseller company.
I've just started getting hosting from Lee (simply web design) and can say so far that I've been very impressed with the overall speed and effiency that i have seen.
He filled out the transfer host form (which i found impossible), Mail server/ftp account was setup very very quick and technical contact has been excellent with answering all my questions very very quickly. (even at 12am on a sat night)
I use frontpage extensions, cgi scripts and Real audio - all are on the server.
Hope this helps, Ian

PS- I'm not looking for a discount Lee
