Robski,

Try a travel agent. I got some from Thomas Cook for my nieces who were going to Disneyland and, at that time, if you went in somewhere between 12 noon and 2 o'clock (I think it was) there was no charge for the transaction

Raymond.

I need to get my hands on a small amount of dollars, anyone got any lying around from a past trip that they want to exchange?

Or anyone know of anywhere to get them without paying high exchange?

Robski,

I've got $9 in my wallet. Left-over from a business trip last week. Marks and Spencer also do no commission exchange. Normally the exchange rate is good too.

I found using my switch card in the ATM machines worked out the best exchange rate - just a thought.....

Wink

I thought I'd point out the obvious - when there is no commission - there is a wider spread in the prices between buying and selling. So for very low amounts it makes sense - for higher amounts you're usually better off with a transaction fee and smaller spread.

BTW I used to work at Thomas Cook on FX systems

I've got about $10 - how much do you need ?

Better than 10p for a cup of tea mister I suppose
