I'm afetr a decent corkscrew looking to spend about £30-£40.

Anyone know of any decent ones?

SCREWPULL do expensive but effort-free ones that look like something out of the Spanish inquisition.

IMO the only way to go is a Pulltap waiter's friend. Nothing beats it if you want to be sure of getting the cork out of your bottle of 1975 Haut Brion in one piece. They are £3.99 in Majestic but you can get fancy solid metal versions in other shops.

yup - I have a screwpull for a quick and easy option, but I now prefer to use a pukka solid metal waiters friend - can't beat them.

I was given a waiter's friend, complete with name of French champagne house, by a French hotellier, years ago. Now I won't use anything else.

BTW: you can buy them for 3.5 euros in French Hyper-markets, (about £2.10)
