recommendations - Mini Disc recorder

I'm looking to buy a mini disc recorder over xmas, but I want one that will let me record from a microphone. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have seen the sony mzr 501, which looks ok, but I am a bit concerned that it doesn't seem to have an adjustable analogue recording level.

I've just bought an MZ-N707, which is a NetMD player and can also record from an external mic. It's very good, and if I had a use for a walkman after friday, I'd keep it. As it is, I'm going to take it back for a refund.
