Attack of the Clones, opening sequence for testing bass + rest of film.
Phantom Menace, pod race.
Band of Brothers any battle part for bullets wizzing past your ears etc. especially the Battle of the Bulge forest parts.
Behind Enemy Lines, the SAM chase sequence, mines, tank in town and final battle.
Blade 2 for DTS testing, excellent throughout.
Saving Private Ryan throughout.
Terminator 2 is good throughout
Cheers
Ian

T1000 can't find the brakes ...
Blade II has 6.1 if you have a house full of speakers.
True Lies is very good.
And Godzilla gives your subwoofer a really good workout

As the title says really.
Just got my DVD surround sound speakers set up in the new living room and was wondering which films are the best to show them off to their full potential.
I've got Castaway, which sounds good when the plane crashes and have been told to get Topgun (for when the bike is racing the plane or summat )
Which do you reccomend.
Many thanks
Matt

Tomorrow Never Dies is worth while just for the missile bit at the start, my person favourite.
Matrix & Fast and Furious are both good as was Urban Legends.
The Mummy is worth hiring out for the high pitched noises from the beetle type things, enough to make anyone cringe if played loud enough.
Those are the ones that spring to mind.

As camk said, Saving Private Ryan is the best for auditioning I have found.
Notable mentions to The Matrix , ATOC and U571.
DTS compatible amp required, and make sure you are in DTS when available (SPR & U571) , not 5.1.

U571 is really good for testing the subwoofer.... all those depthcharges rattle your teeth til they hurt
Very good swooshs and gurgles from all the speakers and the odd mechanical clanks and clinks from behind you really drag you into the atmosphere of bricking yourself 200 metres down in an old german submarine!
Top Surround Film, dodgy american take on what really happened though!

I would say:
T2
Gladiator (Great in DTS!)
Matrix
Star Wars Episode 2
One quick question to those that have 6.1 or DTS ES, is it any better than 5.1? Does the extra speaker on 6.1 make that much difference? I am thinking of upgrading to 6.1 but i need convencing, maybe i should go off and a demo.
