I am 27 and own an integrale and I pay only £370 a year including breakdown cover only thing is I did need the breakdown cover My insurance did seem to go down though when I got to 25 but my fiancee has just turned 25 and her insurance on a KA has only gone down about £40
P.s I have and always have had a clean license

25, 3 years NCB,clean license, paying £1150 for a P1.
Without NCB i doubt i'd get insured.
Most companies seriously take into account the type of car you'd driven before.

Who pay a reasonable Insurance premium??
With 0 years NCB?
Also, when it comes to high performance motors, is there a big reduction for having 3/4 yrs NCB?
A Mate of mine (Ex-insurance) doesn`t think NCB`s account for much reduction when insuring the likes of Scoobs.
Cheers

I've found that no claims makes a huge difference. I've had to insure my car for the first 2 months with no no-claims as i had another car/policy which was 'using' my no claims.
My payment was almost double for the first 2 months without the no-claims.
Marty, (29yo, 3yrs NCB, no points)

Not really. I was reinsuring the cossie after 1 years accident free use. I had (and have) a clean licence, no points and in fact the only difference was that I had turned 25.

Well, i`m not that fcuked yet.
Had a bit of a reversing "Accident" with some woman who hit me whilst I was reversing.
We were both moving when it happened, so it could be a 50/50 as is was on a road in a small estate.
If not 50/50 then I think i`ll pay the quote of £498 to get hers sorted.
And keep my 5 yrs NCB

When I first bought my scooby I was 22yrs old with Zero NCD and 1 accident. Car is MY00UK with full de-cat and cat 1 plus tracker. Excess £1100 and premium was £300 a month.
Now 23 with 1 yers NCD still £1100 excess but under £200 per month.
With Tesco.

when i was 25 i insured a my00 for 950 quid with 1years ncd.
After 2 months i realised i had infact 6 years no claims becuase i didnt realise it was protected from a previous claim. doh!
When i told my insurers it made no diff at all.

Scooby P1,
Even if the claim goes 50/50 you will still lose your no claims and have to pay your excess as well. I'd say you'd definitely be better keeping the insurance out of it and trying to settle direct with the 3rd party. Otherwise you will pay for it year on year. You lose out both ways as you pay an increased premium with less no claims and an increased premium for an accident on your record. Also don't forget you will be paying extra for several (3+) years.
Normal discount for full no claims is 65%+
Cheers,
Ian.

I am turning 25 in Jan and also looking to insure a P1.
I "will" (touching wood) have 6 points and 5 years NCB and have had quotes between £2.5K and the best of about £1300. I have used the same broker for years (due to using the compnaies buying power)and they do take into account how much driving you have done and types of cars you have driven or drive on a regular basis!!!
Hope this helps!!!
