Chris, no they don't, but without sounding TOO much like a domesticated poof, they are the mutts nuts. Practically bomb proof (handy if you live in Iraq), and they do cook better than any conventional saucepan.

But whether they make the ideal Christmas gift, i'm not so sure. Maybe with some Janet Raeger or Prada inside...!!

Do they do corner shaped ones?

Bollox! First attempt at a corner and missed it!

The Le Creuset make good ornaments (my mums got a full set), but are crap to cook with. Sooooo heavy and not that easy to clean (she will curse you for getting them). A better gift would be a quality set of stainless steel pans with decent handles and Copper Bases. A better gift from any angle if she wants to cook with them.

I rekon heavy gauge stainless pans are better value. i find the enamel tends to chip on le creuset, eventually. i have tried to tell the wife not to wash up with a monkey wrench...

They are the best you can get. There is an outlet also at Royal Quays in North Shields and that's where I'm going to be getting mine next year.

I also like the new colour they have brought out, sort of like an RB5 colour

Mum used to have the yellow but she kept burning everything with them and went back to basics (sorry mum if you read this but it's true!! )

I can confirm their 'Bomb proof' status. The lid from this one was stuck in the ceiling. Bit of a scub and it's as good as new. Can't say the same for the rest of the kitchen though!

Druddle - Don't do it mate - I got 'the enemy' the whole heap last year. Pots, frying pan, casserole dishes, baking trays etc. Cost me just shy of £700.00. She has been talking about them for years. Got her the range she wanted in the colour she wanted to look well with the kitchen. Fortunately she found them on Christmas eve......... and I quote
'you mean motherf****r... you bought me a set of saucepans for Christmas. You useless piece of *******'... so I told her that was just something extra I had picked up for her (as I disappeared out the door to find a proper pressie)

Cool

Before you buy them just check that she can lift them when full. I have a full set and I love them but my wife can't lift them, always whacks them on the hob at full heat and complains because they aren't non stick. High quality stainless pans are often a better compromise. Oh yeah they aren't indestructible if you drop them on a stone floor.

They always used to be much cheaper in France.

Doc - someone else said that about the cost of them in France. May have to get a free trip over the channel courtesy of mother in law (and the company she works for)

Brilliant things I've got some that my Mum got when she got her first house - and most are as good as new Although I admitt you do need two hands to lift the big saucepans when full...and not non-stick? More non-stick than most of the non-stick stuff I've had in the past

Oh - and I love that colour AJ was talking about I'd love to get some for Christmas...along with a proper remote control scoob...a larger spoiler....an R34....

AJ, warm water, elbow grease, new cooker, new ceiling and a whole weekend. The drunken chef has hung up his oven gloves.
