Why not rig a bomb in the car? After the car jackers have driven for say 2 minutes the car blows up taking a out a radius of 3 blocks. This would mean that the car is not only covered as a fire incident for the insurance, but you've got the added bonus of not ending up as a suicide bomber.

Hmm, perhaps I should sell my idea to Israel.

Flamethrowers already countered in S. Africa by thieves first chucking some petrol on a driver's door before approaching it.

In the not too distant past a guy got prosecuted for electrifying parts of his garage so his Cosworth would not get stolen.
This sort of behaviour would never be tolerated in this country.

The law is our only recourse. Vigilanteism is ok in the realms of this bbs but I sometimes wonder how many of us could live with the after effects of toasting someone or slicing someones legs off.

Great when you think about it but usually in real life situations things are a lot different.

If people in this country can get Jedi Knight to be installed as a religion why can't we get punishments to fit the crimes?
