Please someone tell me why???????

Why would you put put all that crap on your body for?

Is it so you can tell your mates you have a tatoo/piercing in case you run out of conversation?

.....or are they like comedy ties, and its people with no personalities that have them so people take notice?

Wondered how long it would be before this post went up!!!

I had mine done about 7 years ago, it's my name in Japanese (not Scooby Snacks as that would be too long!!). I don't regret it but then being on my shoulder, I don't see it regularly!! I've often thought about getting another one.

I've never had a piercing though and wouldn't consider it. Especially after seeing things lke this (which will probably get removed). Ouch.

Cant talk on piercings but can talk for tatto's as I have a very large dragon down my back and a tiger thing down my arm - god just typing them made me cringe.

I got the forst one done when I was 16 as a kind of "**** off parents" thing - regret it but I cant see it so never think about it so not bothered.

Second one was a present for my 19th birthday from an ex of mine - regret it but as before, you never think about them until someone notices it. It doesnt bother me, they are there so I live with it - there is no point to it!

Its not to make me individual or anything like that, as Ozzy says - be an individual and DONT get a tattoo!! I wont be getting anymore, not now, Iam 25 and have a very responsible job so enough is enough but I couldnt give two monkeys about the ones I have!

You know what - I cant give you a straight answer as to why I got mine, or why people get them! It was cool when I was 16, I do occasionally feel a bit of a tit when on holiday though!

Each to thier own - I dont recommend them, I dont say dont get one! - you make your own mistakes!!

Simple.

Personal choice.

as with most things its all about personal taste and opinions. you either love them or hate them. what is the point of having gold wheels? what is the point of a dump valve that goes whoosh?
I intend to get a small tattoo of a New Zealand silver fern on my left shoulder (except it will be black cos otherwise it will be invisible!!!) but not so that everyone sees it and comments on it. Purely as it means something to me. Each to their own.
If everyone had exactly the same likes and dislikes this forum would be very dull!

Nice analogy, but fatally flawed. I can take down a picture that I'm sick off and replace it or leave the wall blank. No such option for a tattoo (particularly a big one).

Yeah, I've seen it. It's a bit like removing a picture-hook with an 8lb lump hammer though, isn't it.

I have my daughters name across my back(cue the "he thinks he's David Beckham" comments )As a sort of love for her.

As said before, every one to there own.

I am not keen on the ones like skulls and dragons but i can appreciate the art work envolved in doing them.

Thats my views

I have never seen a tattoo on a woman which looks 'good', in fact just the opposite.
At least piercings can be removed I suppose.

The one thing you can catch from tattoos......addiction. IMO of course Currently have 4, in various easily coverable places (cause of my job), thinking about my 5th one now and possibly having another re-worked. Love 'em!! Piercings....far to painful and scary

There used to be a .......thing that used to drink at my local, she was about 25st and an absolutel fecking monster! - She scared children, I kid you not it was the most hideuos thing god ever put breath into - anyway, she was covered head to toe in tattoes - all it took when she was pissed (all the time) was for someone to say "show us yer tattoos" and sure enough - off came the trousers and top!!

Used to be a weekly occurance when one of us was really shetfaced - "errr lets see yer tattoes"....I promise anyone that you will no longer find tattoeing a body art if you saw this!!

Imagine a Walrus crossed with tommy lee!!!

The things you do when you pissed!......not me obviously!!!

A homemade 'Love' and 'Hate' across the knuckles are the only ones to get.

...or failing that an 'I love mum', pure class.

Clearly I do not, please elobarote.

I thought that you could not buy magazines and such with them in as it was deemed offensive?
