Wait about 8 - 12 months and get a Plasma. They are about a 1/3 of the price they were 2 years ago. I reckon you could pick one up for around a grand very soon.

If you have seen the Panasonic 42" plasma, you won't want anything else. But at £3k+ you might have to get something else

I really want a 42" plasma but our front room isn't big enough.

Cheers

Sony make the very best broadcast kit and I love it, however their consumer TV's are pants. Every one I've seen has geometry problems (wobbly lamposts syndrome) and the black level clamping on my 3d replacement portable is pants (pictures 'bounce' on quick black to white transitions).

I have a 42" Toshiba rear projector (£1400ish) and it is fab - just make sure you watch it from at least 7 foot away, and with your eyline to the centre of the screen (not higher or lower) and it is awsome and very bright.

Just bought a Philips Pixel Plus 32PW9617. 32", Dolby Digital..I'm really impressed. They do a 28" version too. I got John Lewis to pricematch (from Robertsons off the net..but they also have shops in Scotland so JL agreed to match) as you get a 5 yr guarantee with them. Have a look on www.pricerunner.co.uk to browse around..
