can anyone offer me some legal advice?

Hi,
need some advice. I would really like to go to america to visit / training courses / work but I am probally banned!
I got convicted of posession of some grass (a really small amount) as well as a few other more `serious` (!) offences. Probally mean that I'm banned from america for life.
Just wondering if anyone can point me at someone to see if I can actually go there??
Any usefull comments will be gratefully accepted!

Try a US Immigration website.
Used to be that you needed a visa to go to the US, and you'd be refused one if you had a criminal record.
Now I believe as a Brit Cit, you DON'T need a visa for a 90-day visit. So you could get there. But on the plane I suspect you have to fill in a landing card, which will ask if you are an international terrorist, do you carry scissors, do you have exploding shoes, do you have a criminal record etc. If you fill it in truthfully, they'll probably turn you round at the gate and send you packing. If you lie to conceal, and they find out, you're probably shafted a lot further for a lot longer.
Check immigration, but don't hold out much hope. Consider Canada?

You'll be fine as long as you're not applying for residency or a long term working visa. You only need fill out a form on the plane and unless you're a terrorist - which they do ask!! - you're in.
