Are old magazine collections actually worth anything?

I sorted out some magazines at the weekend and I've got issues 1 to 50 of Evo stacked in the cupboard now.
Is it worth keeping them for anything other than future reference?

hmmmm,
Depends on rarity. Old Viz'z for example do go at collectors fairs but then the print run was significantly less. Old Evo's might be worth something in a few years time.
what about old Pirelli Calendars? I've got all the ones from the 80's in boxes! & in total plus a couple of duplicates....

Depends as people say, check ebay out some stuff goes for lots say 1st issue of giles annual - £300 quid I think I saw.
Someone had a collection of most of editions of EVO it went for over £120!
But at the end of the day, you have to find a buyer for these things to be able to sell them. Thats much easier on old rare stuff. the other problem is deciding what they are really worth!

I give all my old car and bike magazines to the charity shops, where they flog them on. My Nan who was a volunteer in such a shop said they would sell out in about 3-5 days, as all the kids buy them. I would take in about 1-200 magazines at a time.

Until recently, I had most copies of Fast Lane going back to the first issue (May 84 IIRC), tons of Performance Car, and a selection of other (non-****) mags. I had to chuck almost all of them out because my father had the audacity to sell my storage facility and move to a retirement flat. A sad day indeed.

If you are looking for a good home for these id be Very happy to take them off your hands ive recently subscribed to Evo but it would be interesting to have a look through the older issues.

I had loads of issues of the Transformers comic (including issues 1-10 apart from 3) - apparently they got binned, but I'm convinced they are hiding in the folks loft somewhere
Someone mentioned they might be worth a bit of cash now
[Edited to add - about £6 by the looks of it! ]

Ah, interesting one this. My mother-in-law has 2 copies of Mecanno Magazine from 1927, and 1928. Anyone know if they are worth anything?
