best car?

My mate was all set to buy a scooby turbo but insurance won't allow him to drive more than a 1.8, not classed as high performance car only
(Trade policy and he is 22)
He already has a Saxo VTS but bored with it
Any suggestions on what to get (budget is approx 5-6K)?

What insurance group can he get insured. The VTS is group 14 IIRC. Is he looking for a bigger car or just something quicker? Maybe a Civic vti, comes as a 1.6 and a 1.8, both insurance group 15?
I've he's worried about the insurance cost then it's probably worth his while getting something sensible for another couple of years to build up his no-claims.
On the other hand, he could spend a less on his next car and use whats left to cover the higher insurance premium. (probably what i'd do in his situation)

Steve,
Isn't the Integra group 17? He'd be struggling to insure it as well as fork out the exrta 3 grand for the car. For 6k he could get an S14 200sx, group 17 too though. Not as nice as the integra but more in the price range and still bloody quick. Loads of easy mods for it too.
