Bought ours (DC08 purple 'n' lime) from www.vacuumcleanersdirect.co.uk. Good service, and about 60 quid cheaper than Currys.

As the starter of the previous thread, I feel I can speak with some authority

Sebo! Sebo! Sebo!

http://www.sebo-vacuums.com/

...sold by John Lewis. Go to a JL, talk to the person in charge of vacuums ( - there will be one) and ask the relative merits. There seemed to be a lot of drawbacks with the Dyson (hardly any I can remember tho'), but the advantages of the Sebo were things like weight, ability to go completely flat for going under radiograms and things, warranty, availability of parts, fantastic turbo brush that would take all the hairs off a dog etc etc

You can then thank JL by buying from them, or get them on the web at 24-7 Electrical or whatever for £20 cheaper

Can't remember which one we got, but its blue and yellow and was about £240 from JL...and its dead good.

Question

Am lookin to purchase the above item and wondered if anybody has bought one and if so,how much and where from?
The cheapest I've seen is via Empiredirect.co.uk for £229 and this compares with the likes of Currys at £289
Any good search engines that can find the cheapest prices on these things?? (I know of search engines for PC components etc)

Cheers

Nick

I realised I was sad the other day when I was sat in the pub discussing dysons with my mate... I've since vowed not to talk about them! Are you going for brush control

we have one.

'kin brill

we have 2 dogs & need a good cleaner, this has so far been the best.

it came from currys + insurance [dont ask I did not buy it] & spare filters etc, but they were good they put it in the car for the wife, but having spent the best part of £400 on a vac cleaner I would hope so too.

Miele vacuum cleaners are too heavy... in fact something they noticed and came up with a special light weight version at nearly twice the price orginally!

Dyson DC03 for me... 5 years old and still going strong! Which is a shame because I want the multi-cyclone ones.

In the market for a new vacuum, still tempted by Dyson, despite the Sebo/Miele competition. Like the idea of "no loss of suction"... Surely this is still a problem with the alternatives?

Lol vacuum noobies. Go the whole hog and get a £1K+ kirby like my olds did. The crap this thing manages to suck out of a carpet or even more worrying your bed is nothing short of amazing.

Got ours from Makro which was the cheapest, but you need to be a member, or have corporate membership.
