Question

Its NOT new!!

You saw the dent and door when you looked it over

The AA/RAC inspection came back clean

Cant see what your problem is, UNLESS:-

You DIDNT have it inspected?? On a £22k Car??? Surely you DID!!??

Either way I reckon you are stuffed UNLESS the car was described as SUPERB, AS NEW, IMMACULATE in the sales buff.

Good luck

Pete

Hi

I'm hoping someone may have some advice here

I've bought a used Audi (1 year old) from an Audi dealer (1 of the aston green branches)

i've had it a week, and have noticed that,

a) the passenger door, when shut, does not seem to sit flush with the bodywork at the bottom
b) there is a slight dent in the boot, only visible in some angles/light, very slight, but a dent nonetheless on a 22 grand car

I fear that to the strictest letter of the law, i dont have much argument, but I was wondering what I can expect/ask of the dealer

I.e. repairs, refund of deposit and cancellation of finance, sourcing of identical spec car. I've done something like 500 miles in the 7 days since i picked it up

Any advice greatfully received, I have an appointment with the rep who sold it to me tomorrow

thanks

Bump to the top

Seen as it is not directly related to another Marque and more a question of consumer rights, I am moving this into Non Scooby Related, where I hope you will get an answer before your appointment.

Cheers,

Michelle.

Much as I hate to agree with Pete on anything, I think he's right here. You bought a used car, and unless it's actually dangerous to drive, you don't have much comeback.

The dent in the boot is probably easy to fix, though - just call Dentmaster and have about £90 spare. I called them out once to fix all the car park dings in my doors and they did a fantastic job.

As for the shut line not being right, it could be nothing, or it could be accident damage. Why not ask the dealer exactly what's in the car's history (if you haven't already)? You've nothing to lose by asking.

A.
