CB Radio - anyone still use/got one?
#1
Just having a bit of a clear out and found my old CB radio.
Gave it a few quick squirts of Pledge cleaner and bodged the aerial plug back on, connected it all up and turned it on.
Everything seems to be okay, but there doesn't seem to anyone about.
Are they still legal?

Crickey that brings back some memories....
I use to always be on those damn addictive things. Funnily enough I met my wife through one going back near on 20 years ago
Use to have a Cobra 148gtl-dx with a ham master base mike plugged through a Bremi 1000watt burner into a Sigma 4 aeriel ...those were the good old days, doing fox hunts, etc
I switched one on a while ago and there was hardly anyone on there...I guess the mobile phone and internet killed it off

Huxley, nice set up!
I use to go on there as Ferret or Nath....I remember Barry (rich kid that use to live on the A4). I'm still good friends with George (HMV) and years ago I use to knock about with Pole Cat, Superfly, Bows, Billy the Kid, Darkie, Timmy tow truck and loads more I cant remember at the mo. We use to meet up at Decembers car park (by the hotel at the river Thames). I remember Andy Capp (lived in Woodley...tall guy with glasses). Uncle Pipe, now theres a name I havent heard for a while City boy (Rex) use to drive the old cement lorrys and had his bleep turned inide out or something.
I use to do a lot of side banding on Sunday mornings (as well as wiping out half a mile of everyones TV's) ....the memories are flowing back

Oh yes, I remember these, still have them in a box somewhere, don't know if they work.
I too am like you Nath, met my husband on there and are still married to him, have been together for 16 years.
Cheers.
