That's what I was thinking...it was starting to get too heavy with the **** being dished on the royals so time for a little (max)damage limitation from ER. Just kill the whole thing - after all it's the Crown versus the butler so who is best placed to nuke the whole shebang...the Crown ! It was getting to be a bit incestuous, the royals getting fcuked by themselves.
What made ER wait so long eh? According to the "media" she told Chaz about a chat with the butler last week but the trial kept on going? Hmm, Chaz might not have a lot of pull methinks...so ole Liz had to do it herself. It's a lot of bollocks. Soon as the royals are put under the spotlight...down come the curtains and Joe Nobody is told (subliminally) that he's nowt. Again. No right to question the morals of the royals. The supreme beings (sic).
Only way to stop the court circus is to get Liz laying down the law. We'd already had the biz on her (Diana's) ma not speaking to her for 4 months, the holier-than-thou-asswipe-at-her-funeral-brother (what a **** that guy is) refusing her a place to live before she bought the farm, so it was getting out of hand for the royals. Time to kill the story before the butler gets on the stand and really starts to dish the dirt.
What did the butler say? Something along the lines of the Queen came through for him? I hope he's not so naive as to belive she was standing up for him personally. He's nothing to her.
Dude should write a book and dish it all up, IMHO.

I think the queen knew he was innocent all along. She was just waiting to see if it would all blow over without her needing to intervene. When it was clear he wouldnt get off without her help then she stepped in to help him out.
Lets face it, if you had that sort of power you'd sort out the people you cared about wouldnt you?
astraboy.

worked with his brother Tony twice now. He never said anything even when I asked him if his brother was okay. I did not expect a story or owt. Just expressing concern and being friendly

Aaaaaha! Another conspiracy theory.
I wonder how long it'll be b4 the butler has an "accident"?
And I also wonder if ER will cough up for the cost of the prosecution, the trial etc etc. (Although why an American medical soap opera should get involved, is beyond me.............)
