My wife was told recently that there is a large retail shopping centre in Swindon. It has a glass roof and has a name like "railway" something.

Supposedly it has has things like a Next warehouse with bargain prices, and many other high street chains.

Does this place exist and where is it?

Its called Great Western - its just a retail outlet mall. Nothing really good in there although there is a Nike store for sporting goods etc and a LeCreuset store for pots and pans. Your bird will probably love it. Otherwise, there isnt an awful lot to do in Swindon IMO - my auntie/uncle live there and I used to be dragged down there by parents kicking and screaming every once in a while.

There is always Swindon Town footie club if you are interested!

Yes it does exist!
Swindon has a large designer retail outlet village called the McArthur Glen centre. It is near some small breweries and all the major car dealers too, that enough entertainment for yer?

Otherwise find The Plough in a small village called Wanborough just outside Swindon, lovely lovely beer..
