I have a colleague who has a V50 Motorola phone and when texting he gets the automatic word completing function (i thinks its called T9 - it is on my Siemens one).

How do you switch it off so it types what you want, not what it wants cos he has lost the manual.

Thumbs up

The only way to get used to T9 Predictive Text is by using it.
When writing a message spell the word normally, ie if writing the word "teeth" press 8 3 3 8 4 as you need only press the number that relates to the letter you need [?]. The internal dictionary of the phone will display the word [words] that closely resembles what you are trying to type. Words not recognised by the dictionary will be added for future reference.

I used to hate T9 but after a week [I don't text much] you get used to it and it becomes second nature.

I tried two or three times in the past and hated it on my 6210.

Gave it another go a few weeks back and it just clicked. Much, much quicker to send texts now
