I need either a computer program or a website that allows me to pinpoint start and end points (down to street level) and then find the straight line distance between them. There are plenty that will find the road distance (RAC, AA, Autoroute, etc.)
Walking distance would be nice too.
Alternatively, if someone has access to the Hertfordshire Local Authority Computerized Mapping System then get in touch

Carl,

Depends how much work we are talking about. I've got digital mapping data for the whole of the UK and a couple of GIS packages that can do this kind of work.

I.e. if you want a couple of distances (as the crow flys) I can do that, however, if you want distances from every point to every other point, that would require some work.

Let me know if I can help.

Cheers

Ian

Cool

Get a copy of the PAF files & each indevidual postcode has a grid reference attached...

Working out the scale is not a problem, after that it is trigonometry

Ian -- I'll mail you this evening. It's just a few postcodes. Basically, we're moving house soon (same town) and applying for secondary schools at the moment. Want to know if it's preferential to notify them of the change of address for calculation of distances to schools, because there are all these rules about applying to a school when you have a nearer non-denominational school

So basically I want distances from two start points (old house and new house) to three end points (three schools).
