OK....i'm 28 and have just recently noticed that my hair is slightly thinning at the corners(you know where i mean). Its not a big problem, and its only just started, but is there anything you can do.
My attitude is ,if it goes,it goes,i can live with it,but do any of these so called treatments really work.

My guess is they dont, but does anyone have any evidence either way.

Stressed, eh...? Got some good methods for reducing that...

My granda was bald when he hit 17...Went through the rest of his life with a monk's hair line. Never did him any harm, so I really wouldn't worry.

Regaine is the product name for Minoxidil, a drug originally developed to treat heart conditions:

Minoxidil administered orally for the treatment of hypertension has a direct peripheral vasodilator effect which reduces elevated systolic and diastolic blood pressure by decreasing peripheral vascular resistance. Reduction of peripheral arteriolar resistance and the associated fall in blood pressure induces sympathetic, vagal inhibitory, and renal homeostatic mechanisms, including an increase in renin secretion, which lead to increased heart rate and cardiac output, and salt and water retention. Minoxidil does not interfere with vasomotor reflexes and therefore does not produce orthostatic hypotension. In experimental animals, the drug does not enter the central nervous system (CNS) in significant amounts.

Results are apparently pretty good, so if you're happy to rub that sh*t on your head for the rest of your life, then go for it.

Don't panic - I'm 28, and have a Number 2 all over. first hint of thinning or receding, OFF it came!!!

I now do it myself and save enough money to fill the Scoob with go-go juice once per month!!!!

Buy some clippers. Best ROI *ever*.

£30 and 1 haircut/week @ (say) a tenner a time = phenomonal ROI.

Cheers

It doesn't really matter how much or how little hair you have, as long as it's not ginger! That's what really counts

Ginger hair = Celtic heritage. So sod off with your comments against those of us who have been deprived of our redhairedness :-)

IMHO - forget all that crap about getting your hair back - unless you have the $$$ of Elton John, it ain't gonna happen, no matter how many US adverts tell you otherwise. Like da man above said, invest it in the go-go juice for the scoob.

Who cares anyway? It's what's IN your head, not what's ON your head that makes the difference. Ask any blonde

Some off the wall suggestions..
1. Grow a beard and tell everyone your head is on upside down
2. Grow very long eyebrows and comb them backwards

Or do as I do and don't worry too much about it. I've got plenty of hair, but less and less of it is on my head.

Hello

You can try Regaine. I have been using it for nearly four years. It's an interesting problem: My hair IS still thinning, but whether it is thinning less because of the Regaine is the question. Regaine stimulates the follicles to regrow.

Propecia is also available to take in pill form. This is known to work, I havne't tried it personally. This prevents existing hair falling out.

So for the complete solution you need to take both. Regaine is at £25 (ish) per month. Propecia from £20 (from foreign sources) per month.

Steve.

Sean Connery still pulls the birds at 70. So I'd go that route.

Apparently the things that indeed help you regain your hair contain female hormones. So your hair reappears but everything else that makes you a man vanishes

whenever I get looks at my painfully disappearing hair I say: 'Yeah, shyte testosterone' and do a big smile. Settles the issue! Proven!

Just get yourself a hair transplant. It only cost a couple of grand. All they do is redistribute your hair.

That hair transplant takes a ribbon out of the back of your head to be redistributed at the top and the front and leaves a big scar at the back. May that can be handled. Still not really much effect.

AND I WON'T LET ANYONE WORK ON ME WITH A KNIFE AS LONG AS I CAN MAKE A FIST!

propecia can promote growth rather than just keeping existing hair, so u dont necessarily need this and regaine:

THE FACTS ARE IN
The fact is, for most men, PROPECIA works. The results of 2 years of clinical testing* showed favorable results for the vast majority of men on PROPECIA.
5 of 6 men kept the amount of hair they had (vs 28% with a sugar pill)

2 of 3 men regrew some hair (vs 7% with a sugar pill)
80% were rated improved by doctors (vs 47% with sugar pill)
Most men reported an increase in the amount of hair, a decrease in hair loss, and an improvement in appearance.

*Based on vertex studies at 2 years, of men aged 18 to 41 with mild to moderate hair loss. There is no evidence that PROPECIA works for receding hairlines at the temples

From a birds point of view... don't try to hide the fact that it's thinning, get it all cropped off. Nothing looks worse than a bloke who is obviously trying to hide that fact that he's losing his hair, yuk.

Mind you I have got a bit of a thing for baldy geezers, look at Jason Statham, phwoar...

Hope my other half doesn't read this

Sal
