Doe's anybody own a DVD Recorder as I fancy getting one? I quite like the Philips range as they are very cheap and all the magazine reviews rave about them. If you own one,any make, let me know your views on it.

I should hold fire for the time being if i were you. As i understand it there are two types of recording format (like the days of Betamax v VHS) still thrashing it out to be the standard. If you cant wait try Richer Sounds.

If you want stand-alone go for the Panasonic E30 which costs circa 450 GBP, If you have a PC go for the Pioneer A04 which is now 195 GBP. These support the standard DVDR/DVDRW format.

As a matter of course I copy all my CDs when I buy them. One copy for the car, one for the home, plus it means the kids can't knacker the original.
I'd like to be able to do the same with my DVDs (and don't tell me they're indestructible, I've had a re-purchase Toy Story 2 cos of my son)
hat's the situation with this - is it impossible to copy a pre-recorded DVD, or is that around the corner
bros
