As per title really. Boss is looking to move and doesn't know the area well. Max radius is 25 miles, preferably not south though.

Any ideas?

Harpenden is really nice. A bit pricey perhaps but benefits from being within a few miles of St Albans.
Takes about 20 minutes from Hemel (not sure about rush hour traffic though)

Needs to be semi-rural. He currently lives in Oxfordshire, and likes village life.

I live in Tring. It's just outside of Berkhamsted.

Nice little village type of thing. Got a local weekend farmers market and all.

Potten End is really nice and v. close

Further away Aldbury is a proper village and is out towards Tring but near the A41 bypass so easy drive,prices are very high there I think!

How near does he want to be?

25 mile radius, Tring and Berkhampstead may be too pricey. Has about £300K to spend.

There are some other places near Tring, Marsworth, Wing etc. but that would take you further away from the bypass Hemel and surrounding area is v. expensive now but due to the A41 Bypass which is being extended to Aylsbury he might want to look round there. I am not so clued up on that area though!The only one's I can think of is Aston Clinton and Wiggington off hand. Wendover is nice but that is starting to get quite far away. There is really loads of places that might fit the bill but it might be the best bet to look at some local estate agents web sites and if he finds anything he likes post up where it is.
