Looking at booking a holiday next year to the island of Cancun. Seen some good deals for the Cancun Clipper Club Self Catering and from what Ive seen on the web it looks like a pretty decent place to stay.

Anyone actually been there and know what its like? I know all you rich SN'ers have about 10 holidays a year so someone is bound to have been there

I stayed near there, but not at that hotel. Be warned, Cancun is expensive, but I had the holiday of a lifetime there, loved every minute of it.

If you eat in the downtown district and not the party zone the prices are more realistic, but some people describe downtown as "scary" although I never thought that.

We went self-catering and had no problems, if you're stuck there are plenty of McD's etc.

Do's:

swim with dolphins
visit Isla Mujeres
use the buses

Don'ts:

Use taxis
Get in any bother with the extremly corrupt police
Drink loads of them alcoholic crushed ice drinks (daquiri's?) as they make the ice from local tap water and you will get the *****.

Stayed last year in a Barcello hotel all inc 2 weeks late availability £450 each inc ins transfers etc great place can be a tad expensive to eat out (for a change).Good beaches friendly people

Moon Palace myself, 5* most excellent, the waitresses even wore stockings and short skirts, how many slaps i got from me bird lol

Damn how much is that place? Did a sample quote for 14 nights for 2 and it cost a whopping US$4,400!!!!
