WTF

Further proof of climate change, if any was needed, I saw a Dragonfly buzzing around the park at lunchtime - in mid October

Whatever happened to the traditional hurricane force winds and torrential rain that normally happens at this time of the year?! Not that I'm complaining of course

The seasons are shifting. Our future generations will be able to enjoy a summer Christmas.

If you think its shagged here you should look elsewhere. Seems to me we have less to complain about every year, so we complain about having less to complain about. It's the British way I guess.

Couldn't agree more, Jack. A few statistical blips on the weather front, most probably caused by El Nino or whatever, and everyone starts claiming the climate's altering.

People should be aware that

a) A couple of years with heavy floods and a late Indian summer are just a statistical anomaly relative to the tens of millions of years this planet has been around.

b) According to all the stuff I've read, in the next 5000 or so years we will be heading into an ice age anyway, so global warming will easily be reversed.

Thumbs up

[smart **** mode on]
Global warming is making the polar ice caps melt, correct?

Will the water level in the ocean go up or down?

Answer: Down, ice takes up more volume than the water it is made up from! and most an iceberg is under the water.

Hmm... interesting! or maybe not.

But the majority of polar ice in held in glaciers that are on land. If they melt the sea level goes up. Simple.

Not to mention the fact that when the icecaps are frozen, a huge volume of water is stored above the water level.

is the North pole not just one big Iceberg? I thought it was only the south pole that had land?
