My friends Dad will be living there for a few weeks while appearing in a play, I doubt he's got a Scooby fetish. Think Kung Foo, Grasshopper that sort of thing. Nearly forgot Death Race 2000 so maybe the scooby would interest him.

I used to live near Lincoln several years ago. (I still visit relatives there)
It wasn't a bad place to live, if you had a car to get around. Lincolnshire is a big county. With plenty of backroads

No-one "lives" there, they just inhabit the place. You cant drive IN lincoln, soo many stupid one way/restricted/crowded roads...
Still, excellent roads up around Caistor/Horncastle/Conningsby etc..and a damn fine cafe at Langrick
The Iron? Pfttt.... (better than Hull City, yes, I know, ok? OK?? :P)

fatherpierre - gridlock like London?
Never - I have lived in both places, and Lincoln always seemed twice as bad as London!
(yes, I have commuted in London both in a car and on the tube, and Lincon in the car... Used to do Earls Court to Bank and back on the tube and Earls Court to Tadworth and back in the car.
Maybe I just expect the bad traffic in London and ignore it )
Yes, I've had too much to drink in the Green Dragon as well

Lincoln's not a bad place to go out in evening, e.g. Po Na Na-- a few good clubs; accessible and good mix. Best bet is to live on the outskirts. Property is dirt-cheap: sell your 1 bed flat in Chelsea and buy a 450-acre estate in Lincoln. Probably afford to buy a twin-engine plan and pilot and commute to City airport for the next twenty years...
Best thing are the open roads. Mostly new, well funded by EEC grants, etc. Twisty, woldy nicely cambered-- perfect. A158 is a good sprint. Anywhere around Cadwell Park (north) is good too.
A few years a go was pushing my TVR Griff fairly aggressively. (Oops! Wrong board!) Was doing the Horncastle to Skegness back-roads on an average 122mph. Didn't realise was being chased by three police cars at the time. Sadly, piled into a roadblock in Spilsby-- which in my opinion counts as cheating. Having said that, pretty much of a one off with the police-- virtually no police on patrol since Lincolnshire is too large an area to cover given current policing budgets.

I still liked living in Lincolnshire - as people say, good police to miles of road ratio Still, I'm happy down South now. No speed cameras where I live (yet)
