This is a link to a site belonging to a friend of my boss who smashed his Lotus up at the weekend. The damage is substantial but he escaped virtually unhurt. Testament to todays safety technolgy in modern day sports cars i would say.

Phew!
I notice no-one mentions any signs warning of the dip, or an uneven road?
Round here, in North LIncs, we have a notorious road that sees loads of accidents. It's busy at certain times of day, it's twisty, and it has blind bends and hills, even blind junctions!
Will the dept. of Transport, or the Local Authority do anyhting about it? You guessed right. They trot out the same old cr*p about it being not the fault of the road, but the drivers.
They even wheel out their tame "road safety officer" from the local plod, to echo the same sentiment.
Isn't it about time we, in this country, started to accept that dangerous roads exist, and do something about it.
I like the French system: a series of placards warning of the dangerous road, then life size black figures at each accident site, one for each death. Makes you think, and slow down.
But, of course, if you admit the road isn't safe, you're duty bound to upgrade, and upgrading costs money...............
Being as we pay so little road tax, and petrol tax in this country, we couldn't aford any upgrades..............could we?

I was on a track day with Tim earlier this year and he drove that Elise very well. I remember thinking it was one of the nicest Elises I'd seen Think it was used by EVO in their Track car of the Year issue as well.
Hope it gets sorted...

Having been in a few nasty ones myself, I have to say be grateful you're unhurt, a car can always be repaired or replaced!
Funny how the DoT won't admit that blackspots of that kind exist:angry:
But they do acknowledge that there are blackspots on perfectly straight, clear dual carriageways, so much so that they reduce them to 50mph & cover them with speed cameras:angry:
What's the difference? The first type just kill people, the second type raise money and reduce crime figures. Go figure!

Thanks for your kind words everyone.
I can highly recommend NOT trying that at home folks, but as you can see, bloody strong those little plastic cars.
I guess my track day fun is over until next season!
Regards,
Tim.
