I am buying a house at an auction,is it
wise/quicker/cheaper to use the same solicitor as the guy selling the house

There will be a conflict of interests for the solicitor which could work against you if there is a problem - with which party will his loyalty lie ultimately? Thus, if the solicitor is any good surely he wouldn't take you on as he'd be professionally compromised.

I'm not a lawyer but I wouldn't think it is a good idea.

Can't see that it would necessarily be cheaper or quicker either - solicitors aren't known for charity or efficiency!!
