Dave,
can't say anything till after the airing, contracts and all that stuff. Rumour is the the series should be aired on beeb 2 in november.
We have also been called to take part in a university challange extreme edition to be filmed this october, and maybe one or two others at the same time.

You should do alright as long as Chunky old Phillipa Forrester does not fall on it and crush it or it does not look like a pie and she tries to eat it instead

Paul,
she was the least of our concerns, in the "flesh" she is quite tall (it suprised me), she was just short of six feet in her chunky trainer/boots (3 inch heels).

skiddus,
by the time we put our self in the pit we had been going for four and a half minutes, they did;nt show the bit where we took one of 259's belt off and a chunk out of his weapon drive pully, he had two too start with, thats why he only had 1 belt on when he faught wild thing, what caused us to lose drive in one of our wheels was that the motor magnets shifted when we took a hit and jammed!, that won't happen again they have been modded.

I didn't realise they cut so much out.
When I saw the belt on 259 I immediately thought"well that's gonna come off for a start".
Better look next time round.BTW how long/much did it cost to put your robot together?

skiddus,
the students got £1400 in sponsorship from various places plus lots of bits and pieces,
we started to design and build in jan 2001 with the plan to enter series 5, we made it to qualifying in august 2001, we beat our oppisition but were well over weight so did'nt get selected,so a diet started and we made the 100kg this year (just).
if i had to cost my time in my engineering workshop we would be looking a nearer £30000
