Someone who works for a diferent publication from the one you're advertising in, who tries to get you to place your advert in their own publication.
Can get very annoying after the fifth or sixth one, hence most people request no canvassing.
In the Muppet Forum, they'd probably start talking about tents (unless that's the context you actually meant?!)
