Am moving to a new flat and need a TV. Thought I'd get a widescreen one - as I like watching DVDs.

So far I've see this 32" LG one for £449 - which seems a bargain.

http://www.jungle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductInfoDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&p roductId=11213620000&langId=-1&itemId=11213620001

But then what's it like as it seems a lot less that the other "normal" makes (Sony, Panasonice, JVC, Toshiba, etc)

Any advice before I buy - my budget is around £550 max.

Regards
James

James - email me if you fancy some Sony stuff, I know of an official, but not widely advertised, Sony website which sells all their gear at tip top low prices. I don't work for them BTW, but will be buying a widescreen IDTV from there for under £700. At the other end of the scale I saw the same TV in a mainstream mail order catalogue for £1k

James,

Nowt wrong with LG ! Far from it in fact. You will find that if you crack open most of the 'normal' makes you will often find an LG chassis or tube. For the kind of money tou are talking about Hitachi often represent the best all round value for money. If you use an amp for your audio however I would go for something like Panasonic for a better tube without paying the 'Sony premium'
all IMO of course.

Thanks all in the end I went for the LG model

http://www.lge.co.uk/mod_perl/go.pl/site/products/entertainment/tvs/crttvs.htm?product_uid=2249&category_uid=599

But managed to find a cheaper price with pricerunner

http://uk.pricerunner.com/

Therefore all in for £382.01 + £29.99 for delivery from 24-7 Electrical. They also seemed to be the only retailer that would actually arrange a delivery time rather than it just turninng

http://www.24-7electrical.co.uk/bin/venda.plex?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=24-7v2&invt=lgri32cz10rx&source=PRICERUNNER

Bit of a bargain me thinks

Loewe TV's are very tasty, sold in good hi-fi shops.
B+O league but not quite so arty-farty designs.
