Tarmac the railways..good or bad idea?
#1
the rail system is **** in this country. it doesnt work, never will probably.
so instead of constantly pouring billions into this rotten system, why not just tarmac the whole ****** lot?
imagine it. thousands of miles of long, direct roads instantly created. allow lorries and coaches to use them (direct routes save time and fuel), thus freeing up normal roads for every day users.
is this impossible? is it a bad idea? i just dont ever see a time when the rail system will be worth a wipe, so b0ll0cks to it, bin it and do something radical.

There is something very corrupt going on in the railways
A couple of years ago, the government and railtrack announced umpteen billion pounds worth of upgrades to the railways over n-years.
Now, the west coast line (the one that Beardy wants to run his rocking-horse trains on) suddenly announces that the 2 billion upgrade is actually going to cost tribble-billion. Oh, and they are going to close off the lines for several months as well (although nowt to do with the upgrade)
Just who the **** is making up these numbers???
People can get sacked for nicking a bic-biro, yet the authorities can pi55 away money like there is no tomorrow If you left these incompetents in charge of tarmac-ing the railways, they would probably fill all the tunnels with FCA (Fine Cold Asphalt) then complain that the trains could not get through!!
Rather than tarmac 'em, make 'em into mass graves and bury the ***** who are hopelessly "running" this shambles (like they did with the F&M cattle )
Billions is an awful lot of money - more than the minellium (intentional sp) dome even - and look what a waste that was!!!!
Gets me maaaaaaaaaad
