Two mates are planning a trip to New Zealand.. luck b4stards!!
Anyway they are having trouble finding flights via America at a reasonable price and that the websites are less than straight forward and unhelpful..
Anyone recommend a website or company to use or work in the business??
Any help appreciated

try Trailfinders. sorry, dont know their number but they are in Alton (Hampshire). Very helpful and all the staff travel regularly themselves so know what they are talking about. There are not many good deals on flights to NZ unfortunately but the trip will be worth every penny. If they need any advice on must-see places I'd be happy to suggest a few.

Ok places to visit, based on my own favourites. First of all, however long they have out there, concentrate on South Island - much more spectacular than North and more to see. So, following are all on S Island - Kaikoura for whale watching + swimming with dolphins, fur seals, amazing coastline. Queenstown for pure adrenalin (also happens to be a really nice town which is a bonus). Most people go to Millford Sound. Personally I prefer Doubtful Sound which is more spectacular and hardly anyone there to spoil it (mainly as it is a pain in the **** to get to , but that is half the fun). Dunedin for a beer or 20 with the locals (will help if they can at least pretend to be an All Black fan as the whole town is a shrine to them). Fox glacier or Frans Joseph (very similar and nothing much between them but might as well see at least one of them). Helicopter ride up Mt Cook. There is loads more but as they will be driving around they will see it anyway. As for car/camper hire I have found best to be Maui (sorry dont know a contact number but they will be in any guide book or just find them at the airport on arrival). A lot of NZ car hire places wont let you take the vehicle from North to South Island but Maui no problem.
Hope this gives some ideas.

I work in the conferencing business, and know a few travel people. Let me know dates of travel and I'll see what I can rustle up next week.
In return; selling your DGM for a reasonable price. I don't think that's too much to ask for, is it ?
Chris.

- my bob's worth; if u are just using the States as a stopover, then it's probably best avoided due to incidents last September (can get mega hold-ups at airport security checks); suggest travelling via Asia - Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific are good (with Cathay u can sometimes get a couple of nights in HK thrown in for free).

Cheers guys... sorry for the delay in replying been busy all weekend..
They have flown via Singapore last time and fancied a change but that is a good point re-security and delays..
I think the chances of me going are next to nothing really.. although I like the idea..
The currently plans are for two of them to fly out early March and then for two to meet them out there end of April.. then all four fly back together mid May.
