Home Cinema Surround Speakers
#1
Does anyone have a set of very small surround speakers that they would recommend?
We are currently having an extension and the living room re-done.
The Mrs has stated she doesnt want big speakers all around the room (I dont understand why as I like 'em ), so Im thinking about changing them for some small unobtrusive ones.
Ive been looking at the mission NXT Panels fs2 series, or maybe Bose or any other 'lifestyle' speakers as they seem to be called.
I dont really have a big budget as this is an unexpected expense s o dont want to spend more than around £500.
I currently have the following missions :
771e Front on Atacama stands
77C1 Centre
77DS Bi-pole Rears
Yamaha YST SW90 Sub
The above cost around £800 2 years ago, so I will probably be downgrading in terms of sound quality. I still want something that sounds decent as well as looks good.
Also, if I buy a new set is anyone interested in buying my existing kit?
Cheers

Mark.....i have just spent the last few months assembling a home cinema system.I also wanted a set of very small speakers as i dont want them taking over the living room.
In the end it came down to the Energy take 5 system
This costs £599 from Sevenoaks.Basically they are very small but the sound, for home cinema,is very big.The only downside,if you call it that,is that they are rather plain looking.
The other option is the Keff Eggs...
These cost around £650 and are highly recommended by what hi-fi.They are also pretty small and have a more futuristic design as you can see.
In the end i bought the Energy's mainly cos i got a good p/x deal on them ,although i'd have been equally happy with either.IMO the Kefs do have the edge in sound, but i'm not sure theres much in it.

I would consider the Miller and Krysel K7 series. they are small, but significnatly better with stronger bass than the likes of the bose acioustimass.
the nxts are convenient, but sound is a little vague and tinny, and they do need a subwoofer to get anything remotely low.
