ok- im fed up with stuffing loads of twigs, leaves and hedge trimmings in the boot to take to the tip...i need a shredder.

anyone use one they could recommed? it must be electric and not silly money (£100-200ish)

also how loud? dont want anything much louder than a flymow.

Just chuck them over the fence

Seriosuly, pop down to your nearest Machine Mart as they have 'proper' shredders for not too much dosh. Failing that you could always get yourself a 'home' version like a Black & Decker, but I tend to find the 'home' version power tools don't last more than a year or so and can only put piddly little branches through them.

Most are quite loud but there are a few on the market that are marketed as quiet. Quiet in this case meaning you can hear yourself think.

Bosch one we have isn't too loud. Certainly no louder than the lawn mower. They aren't a quick way of getting rid of stuff tho' and they don't get rid of the stuff they just prepare it so it composts quicker.

not quick? i assumed they'd make short work of some pruning clippings etc?

I've used a Bosch shredder and it was far better than one I hired from a plant hire firm
