Caught speeding, Irish license, what now?
#1
Caught a couple of weeks ago by a mobile van dressed up as an RAC van doing 79 in a 60. Never mind how angry I am that they feel the need to fine me for passing a car and caraven safely that is too close to a tractor...(rant over). I know I broke the law, bah de blah and all that rubbish... Happy to pay the fine and have points on my license....
Anyway, I completed the fixed panalty notice thing and got something back last week saying that I could settle it (take points and pay a fine i guess) out of court providing my license was issued in Cardiff.
My license was issued in N Ireland.
I've written to them as they do not accept telephone queries, but what do you think will happen, reading the docs that came it appears I will be in court! I think this would be harsh as I pay my road tax, insurance, income tax, VAT, National Insurance, in this country, have a British passport, live in England, own a house in England, payed stamp duty on it............ etc etc...
